I.D. Systems congratulates the UKWA Warehousing Company of the Year
The United Kingdom Warehousing Association’s Annual Awards are widely regarded as one of the premier networking events in the logistics industry’s calendar and over 400 UKWA members, their guests and suppliers to the 3PL sector were present at the Dorchester Hotel for the presentation ceremony on 1st July.
UKWA CEO Peter Ward gave the guests a warm welcome on the hottest day of the year and thanked all of the applicants, saying: “You are all winners.” Guest speaker was former director general of the CBI and trade minister, Lord Digby Jones, who praised the manufacturing sector in the UK and spoke of the need for greater education and skills.
This year I.D. Systems was the category sponsor of a prestigious new award: Warehouse Company of the Year. This was won by mda, the UK’s leading marketing fulfilment specialist, in recognition of the efficiencies and innovations it delivers in the design, storage and delivery of marketing materials for Europe’s biggest brands including, Coca-Cola, Heineken, Morrison’s, Nestle and the British Heart Foundation. mda operates from four UK fulfilment centres, with 3 million orders despatched annually.
I.D. Systems’ COO Norm Ellis travelled from America to attend the awards and presented mda’s Managing Director Dale Stokes with the trophy. “This was a hotly contested category and all entries were naturally of the highest standard, and I extend my congratulations to all at mda who worked hard to achieve this accolade,” said Norm. Dale Stokes was delighted with the award win: “In 2010 we were thrilled to win ‘Best New Warehouse’ in our inaugural year, so to come full circle in just five years and go home with the big one – Warehousing Company of the Year – is a stunning performance.”
